Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Hosts Crimson Conversations: Trust, Will, and End-of-Life Planning Workshop

Tuscaloosa, AL — The Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., through its Economic Development Committee, will host Crimson Conversations: Trust, Will, and End-of-Life Planning Workshop on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 3100 25th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, in the Family Life Center.

This informative and empowering workshop is designed to help individuals and families better understand the importance of trust, will, and end-of-life planning. Participants will gain practical knowledge and resources to make informed decisions that protect their assets, honor their wishes, and reduce uncertainty for loved ones.

Crimson Conversations is part of the chapter’s ongoing commitment to economic empowerment and financial literacy, offering the community access to vital information that supports long-term stability and generational planning.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. Tuscaloosa Alumnae and Lambda Zeta Chapters Host 37th Annual African American Read-In

Tuscaloosa, AL — The Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter and Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, will host the 37th Annual African American Read-In on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cordell Wynn Humanities & Fine Arts Center at Stillman College.

The African American Read-In is a nationally recognized initiative established by the National Council of Teachers of English to celebrate African American literature, literacy, and intellectual achievement. This annual event brings together children, families, educators, students, and community members to honor the power of reading and storytelling while uplifting the voices and contributions of African American authors and illustrators.

Community members interested in participating are invited to submit the title of the reading and the author or illustrator by Friday, February 14, 2026, via https://bit.ly/AALSignUp. Readings are limited to two minutes and must be appropriate for children. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Scholarship and Outreach Fundraiser to Empower Students and Transform Futures

Tuscaloosa, AL — The Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is proud to announce its upcoming event, Steppin’ into Greatness – An HBCU Homecoming Tribute. This dynamic scholarship and outreach fundraiser will celebrate the rich traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) while raising funds to support deserving students and the Tuscaloosa community. Date: Saturday, March 7, 2025, Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM Location: Tuscaloosa River Market, 1900 Jack Warner Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 || Now Accepting Sponsorships and Donations   

The event will highlight the vibrant culture, pride, and legacy of HBCU homecomings through music, dance, and community fellowship. More importantly, it will serve as a powerful platform to create opportunities, expand access to education, and make a lasting impact on the lives of young scholars.
