Economic Development

The ladies of Tuscaloosa Alumnae are committed to encouraging and empowering our community to become financially literate and economically self-sufficient. We work to plant the seeds of financial success so that everyone can enjoy the fruits of their ideas, innovation and labor. We do this through the development and implementation of programs that address the Financial Planning and Consumer Literacy needs of our community.

Job/Career FairĀ

Over 200 job seekers, over 40 employers and area agencies and over 40 members of the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. participated in the event. The objective of the Job/Career Fair was to promote economic development by extending career training and employment opportunities to the citizens of Tuscaloosa and the West Alabama community. A plethora of businesses and service agencies were represented in various categories from career services, community services, state schools, finance, healthcare, military/security and employment/temporary staffing. The Tuscaloosa Career Center Mobile Unit was on site and provided computers for employment explorers to apply for online positions. Many job seekers were prepared with resumes and were dressed appropriately for the event. Numerous program participants were generous with positive remarks regarding the Job/Career Fair and deemed it to be a success!
